This residential stamped concrete project showcases a stunning transformation of a simple backyard path into a sleek, slate-textured walkway. Located in Southern New Hampshire, the homeowner wanted a solution that was both practical for foot traffic and visually impressive—especially near the garden and fire pit area.
We designed and installed a stamped concrete walkway using slate patterns and deep charcoal tones, sealed to enhance color and durability. The path features subtle accent coloring to create the appearance of stone slabs while maintaining the strength and low-maintenance benefits of concrete. Edges were leveled and formed to create a seamless transition between the home and the natural backyard slope.
The biggest challenge with this project was accommodating the uneven terrain without building up large retaining walls. We carefully graded the ground and adjusted our formwork to allow for smooth elevation transitions. Additionally, weather was a factor during pouring and stamping—requiring tight scheduling and efficient teamwork to ensure proper curing and surface finish.
