This residential project in Southern Massachusetts focused on building a clean, functional, and elegant poolside space that matched the modern design of the home. Mark D. wanted a durable surface that would provide both safety and style, creating a seamless transition from the home to the pool area for summer enjoyment and entertaining.
We poured and finished a smooth broom-texture concrete surface that wraps around the custom pool. The clean lines and minimalistic finish add a polished look to the backyard while maintaining maximum durability. This installation included precision edging, careful elevation management, and timing the pour to ensure consistent finishing across the expansive area.
The Challenge Of Project
With a large open layout and sharp geometry, the biggest challenge was achieving a uniform surface finish in direct summer sun. Concrete was poured in multiple phases with a tight window for setting and troweling to avoid cold joints or color variations. Proper drainage and slope management were also essential to prevent pooling near the home’s foundation.
